IMT AG - UX & Industrial Design

UX & Industrial Design

At IMT, we recognize the significant impact of UX and industrial design in the marketplace. Back in 2013 we created the «bellavista» hospital ventilator, offering the industry's first intuitive multi-touch user interface and no physical buttons. Our team curates products that excel in functionality while establishing a deep connection with the end-users. Explore our approach to create an intuitive user experience and compelling industrial design.

IMT Design Process Product development

User experience (UX) and industrial design are two cornerstones of product design. At IMT, we blend aesthetics and functionality, aligning users' needs with technical capabilities and business goals. Our UX design approach focuses on creating visually appealing products that guarantee a seamless user journey. Underpinned by user-centric design, encompassing user story research, persona development, and workflow mapping, our methodology includes developing hardware prototypes and user interface mock-ups. This allows rapid iterations based on immediate feedback, fostering the desired outcome.

In medical settings, our designs enhance patient safety and the quality of healthcare services. We utilize the IEC 62366 standard to formulate medical device usability specifications and conduct usability evaluations throughout development. We continually innovate to meet rigorous safety and usability standards, resonating with target audiences.

Use cases

Patient ventilators

User experience and industrial design are crucial in the development of ventilators. They ensure intuitive operation, which reduces operating errors and thus increases patient safety. An appealing design can also promote the patient's well-being and contribute to the acceptance of the device.

Gas flow meter

With our experience in developing professional gas flow meters, we ensure efficient handling and optimum precision, resulting in reliable measurement results. A purposeful, robust design not only facilitates the integration of the device into diverse industrial environments, but also ensures its resistance to demanding working conditions. In addition, we place great emphasis on mobility to enable the versatile use of the equipment.
