Meet us

We look forward to hearing from you - A short message is all it takes and we will reserve enough time for you.

IMT AG - Rapid Prototyping

Rapid
prototyping

With passion and precision, our experts turn your ideas into reality. Thanks to our in-house manufacturing center, we can significantly accelerate the entire product development process, producing high-quality, working prototypes in record time.

IMT AG - 3D printing for medtech

In our manufacturing center, we turn your ideas into prototypes and gradually refine them into products ready for mass production. Leveraging versatile technologies, we design both complex individual components and complete systems. Through simulations and an agile approach, we optimize key aspects such as weight, functionality, and manufacturing design, continuously integrating these improvements into the development process.

With our prototype production lines, we focus on enhancing manufacturability and developing production tools. The finished prototypes and parts are then tested directly in-house in our test laboratory. This approach results in shorter development cycles, higher quality, and greater flexibility for our customers to quickly adapt to changes in requirements or project scope.

The path to industrialize your product

Project briefing

Together with our experts, the requirements for the component or system are defined.

Components design

Our engineers and designers can draw on many years of experience when designing parts in CAD and thus develop efficient and cost-optimized solutions.

Simulations

We simulate individual components or entire systems, and optimize them based on the findings.

Prototyping

In our in-house manufacturing center, we produce prototypes in the shortest possible time. To do this, we use the advantages of rapid prototyping and digital manufacturing combined with the experience and skills of our employees.

Testing & Assembly

When assembling modules or entire devices, we consider manufacturability and ease of assembly already at the initial prototype stage and incorporate insights directly into subsequent versions. Subsequent testing allows our engineers to efficiently verify and validate the design approach.

Production preparation

With each iteration, we co-develop manufacturing and assembly tools. This allows us to facilitate smooth design transfer to series production at the customer facilities.

Technologies used

  1. Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)
  2. Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)
  3. CNC machining (milling)
  4. Turning, drilling, sheet metal working, sawing
  5. Marking laser
  6. Prototype production line
  7. Sandblasting
  8. Barrel finishing
  9. Ultrasonic cleaning

Advantages of rapid prototyping

Rapid prototyping is a physical experiment in product development and design that bridges the gap between digital design and a tangible product. The advantages:
Prototyping and iteration

We can quickly turn new ideas into reality, create prototypes. This enables immediate feedback so engineers can make timely changes and continuously improve the product.

Fast design validation

Rapid prototyping significantly shortens the time from initial design to prototype and provides engineers with a physical model to validate their design in less time.

Independence

We are not dependent on external suppliers, which enables us to quickly turn new ideas into reality, create prototypes and improve them iteratively. This makes the development process more efficient and shortens time to market

Cost-effective

By minimizing design errors, rapid prototyping contributes to significant cost savings in the product development process.
